Gunners Prepare for Potential Historic Victory
Leaked footage has surfaced on social media showing Arsenal rehearsing a Premier League trophy presentation, adding to the anticipation as the season nears its dramatic conclusion on Sunday.
Manchester City is on the brink of securing their fourth consecutive Premier League title, a feat that has never been achieved before. To make history, Pep Guardiola’s team must beat West Ham at the Etihad Stadium. However, if they draw or lose, Arsenal has a chance to clinch the title for the first time in 20 years by defeating Everton at the Emirates Stadium.
The possibility of the title race being decided on the final day has created logistical challenges for the Premier League organizers. Premier League chief executive Richard Masters can’t be in two places at once, so he will attend Arsenal’s match at the Emirates. Consequently, if City wins, Masters won’t be present at the Etihad to present the trophy.
To cover both outcomes, there will be identical Premier League trophies at each stadium. Both Arsenal and City have made preparations, including rehearsing the trophy presentation. The leaked footage shows Arsenal and Premier League staff practicing on the Emirates pitch.
Some might think Arsenal is getting ahead of themselves, similar to Liverpool’s planned Premier League-winning parade in the 2021-22 season. However, the preparations are simply to ensure readiness for the possibility of Arsenal winning the Premier League title for the first time since 2004.
