Transfer Gossip: Man Utd big-money sub among Chelsea options; Arsenal start selling fringe men

Jadon Sancho has emerged as a target for Chelsea, who are desperate to sign another attacking player. What next for Man Utd?

MAN UTD SUB AMONG CHELSEA TARGETS
There was talk of Raphinha and Ferran Torres being Chelsea targets as they look for another winger – as well as Arsenal fringe player Emile Smith Rowe – and on Tuesday night the name of Ansu Fati was added to the list as both the Blues and Tottenham look towards the Barcelona forward.

And now The Secret Scout on Twitter has come with yet another update: ‘Understand Ferran Torres, Jadon Sancho, Ansu Fati and Raphinha are amongst a ‘list’ of possible attackers Chelsea have discussed bringing in before the window shuts. 🔵 #CFC

‘Chelsea would love to bring back Jamal Musiala, but unsurprisingly Bayern wouldn’t be keen to sell now’

Sancho is the interesting name on that list because he has been on the bench for all three of Manchester United’s Premier League games this season. And he also happens to have been a Chelsea fan when he was a kid. With Manchester United on the verge of signing Marc Cucurella, maybe a big-money swap is on the cards?

NEXT FOR MAN UTD?
With Marc Cucurella soon to come through the door after agreeing personal terms with Manchester United, the priority remains another midfielder, though that is ‘complicated’, according to the Daily Telegraph, and might well rely on them managing to offload players.

It now seems that Sancho might be an option for that sacrificial role but Scott McTominay could be an option, with Bayern Munich emerging as suitors. But it seems that Thomas Tuchel – who is obviously keen to raid the Premier League market – might want rather different different things to his club.

Sofyan Amrabat remains the midfield name in the frame but there are still persistent links with Bayern’s Ryan Gravenberch and Tottenham’s Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

ARSENAL CLEAR-OUT BEGINS
They really do need to start taking in some money after spending rather a lot this summer and the Arsenal outgoings are ready to begin in earnest as Folarin Balogun is going to join Monaco in what Fabrizio Romano calls a ‘£34m package’. Following him out of the door will be Nuno Tavares (£2m loan fee and a non-mandatory £12m buy option) and Rob Holding may have the choice of Real Mallorca and Luton Town.

And the Mail say that Mikel Arteta would be ‘tempted’ to sell Emile Smith Rowe if Arsenal receive an offer ‘way above market value’. There is a ‘minimal chance’ the player will join Chelsea, however, who ‘have shown a willingness to include players as a sweetener in any deal with Arsenal’.
