Serie A Giants Seek Attacking Reinforcement as Out-of-Favor Winger Eyes January Exit from Old Trafford
As the January transfer window looms, Manchester United remains in active negotiations with Juventus over the potential transfer of England international Jadon Sancho, who has found himself sidelined at Old Trafford under the management of Erik ten Hag.
The 23-year-old winger, subject to intense transfer speculation following his exclusion from the first-team, has not featured for Manchester United since his social media outburst following the team’s 3-1 defeat at Arsenal in September. With the player’s future at Old Trafford in doubt, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided updates on the situation.
Various clubs, including Barcelona and those in Saudi Arabia, have expressed interest in acquiring Sancho’s services. However, according to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti, Juventus is actively engaged in negotiations with Manchester United regarding the potential transfer of the out-of-favor winger.
Juventus has reportedly expressed willingness to cover a portion of Sancho’s salary as talks between the two clubs progress. Manchester United, however, is said to prefer a permanent deal for the player. Galetti dispels rumors of a potential move to Saudi Arabia, stating that such an option is not considered ‘concrete.’
Currently occupying second place in the Serie A standings, Juventus is eager to strengthen its attacking options under the management of Max Allegri. The club has won nine out of 12 league games this season, trailing league leaders Inter Milan by just two points. Sancho’s potential arrival could bolster Juventus’s offensive capabilities, as the team has scored fewer league goals than rivals Inter, AC Milan, Napoli, and Atalanta this season.
Despite his limited appearances this term, playing in just three games, Sancho’s track record includes 41 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring a total of 12 goals since his high-profile £73 million switch from Borussia Dortmund in 2021. As negotiations unfold, football enthusiasts await further developments in the potential transfer saga shaping up between Manchester United and Juventus.
