Manchester United Unveils Striker Rasmus Hojlund

In a major transfer move, Manchester United has officially signed Denmark international Rasmus Hojlund from Serie A club Atalanta. The 20-year-old forward has become a priority signing for the club, especially after their pursuit of England’s all-time record goalscorer Harry Kane became unattainable.

Hojlund’s signing comes at a reported fee of £72 million, and he has inked a five-year deal with an option for an additional year. The young striker’s arrival at Old Trafford is expected to fill the void left by the departure of Wout Weghorst and bolster United’s attacking options for the 2023-24 Premier League season.

Expressing his excitement about joining the iconic club, Hojlund shared, “It is no secret that I have been a fan of this great club since I was a small boy and I dreamed of walking out at Old Trafford as a Manchester United player. I am incredibly excited by this opportunity to turn that dream into a reality and I am determined to repay the faith that the club has shown in me.”

Having scored nine goals in Serie A for Atalanta during the last season after moving from Austrian club Sturm Graz, Hojlund’s talent and potential have not gone unnoticed by Manchester United. The club’s pursuit of him was intensified when Atalanta showed no interest in a money-plus-players deal that included midfielders Fred and Donny van de Beek.

The young Danish striker is eager to take his game to the next level and is confident that joining Manchester United, alongside a group of world-class players, will provide the ideal environment for his development. He expressed his eagerness to work under the guidance of one of the best coaches in the world and aims to achieve great things with his new teammates at the prestigious club.

With Hojlund becoming United’s third signing this summer, following the arrivals of Mason Mount from Chelsea for £55 million and goalkeeper Andre Onana from Ajax, the club is not stopping there. Reports suggest that Manchester United is keen on adding a new central midfielder and a backup goalkeeper before the summer transfer window closes on September 1. The club’s management is determined to reinforce the squad and build a strong team for the upcoming season.
