Mikel Arteta Proudly Accepts Premier League Manager of the Month Award for February

Arsenal Boss Credits Team Effort for Five-Straight League Wins; Ramsdale Returns to XI

Mikel Arteta, the head coach of Arsenal, expressed his gratitude and pride upon receiving the Premier League’s Manager of the Month award for February. Under his guidance, Arsenal secured five consecutive league victories last month, showcasing a remarkable turnaround in their form.

Acknowledging the collective effort of his players and staff during this successful period in north London, Arteta emphasized the significance of the accolade. In anticipation of Arsenal’s upcoming Premier League clash with Brentford on Saturday, Arteta conveyed his appreciation, stating, “It’s a great honour in this league to get recognised in this way so I want to say thank you to the team and the staff for always being supportive and making this happen.”

Arteta also revealed that out-of-favour goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale would return to the starting lineup, with first-choice David Raya ineligible to face his parent club. Reflecting on Ramsdale’s controversial signing for a reported fee of £30 million in 2021, Arteta emphasized the personal connection between them. “The connection on a personal level goes two ways pretty much and I’m really happy that we made the call as a club to sign him,” he added. “It was very controversial to start with but we wanted to change his career in a powerful way and we’re really happy.”

Arsenal’s recent attacking prowess has been evident, with the team scoring 21 goals in their last four wins against Sheffield United, Newcastle, Burnley, and West Ham. Arteta praised his side’s attacking flair and defensive solidity during this period, emphasizing their ability to both score freely and concede minimally.
