Mohamed Salah Set to Reject Saudi Pro League and Sign New Liverpool Contract

Liverpool Star Prefers Anfield Stay Over Lucrative Saudi Offer

Mohamed Salah is reportedly ready to commit his future to Liverpool and reject a major contract offer from the Saudi Pro League, according to sources. The Egyptian forward, along with teammates Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, is out of contract next summer, leaving him free to negotiate with foreign clubs from January.

The 32-year-old has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, where a massive deal is said to be on the table. However, the Liverpool Echo reports that Salah is eager to stay at Anfield if offered a new contract.

“It is understood Salah is desperate to extend his stay at Liverpool beyond this summer,” the report states. Several factors contribute to Salah’s desire to remain with the club, including his family’s deep connection to the city. One source noted, “He’s speaking about his daughter being from Liverpool. She is one of the city’s people in his eyes.”

Additionally, Salah has observed the struggles of former Liverpool teammate Sadio Mane, who has faced difficulties settling in Saudi Arabia. Despite being touted to leave Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr, no move materialized for Mane, adding to Salah’s hesitations.

The low crowds, lack of global interest, and overall quality of play in the Saudi Pro League are also factors deterring Salah from making the switch, despite the allure of being celebrated as a hero.

Financially, Salah is already well-compensated, earning €1.2 million per week when factoring in his commercial deals, meaning the large Saudi offer may not be enough to tempt him away from Liverpool.
