Mohamed Salah Weighing European Move Amid Contract Uncertainty at Liverpool

Liverpool star considers options as club delays renewal offer

Mohamed Salah is reportedly contemplating a move away from Liverpool this summer, with the club slow to offer a new contract, according to sources. Salah’s contract is set to expire next June, and despite his impressive form, including a goal in the recent 3-0 victory over Manchester United, no renewal offer has been made.

The Egyptian forward, who has set a Liverpool record by scoring 20-plus goals in seven consecutive seasons, remains unfazed by the uncertainty. However, with his contract running out, speculation is growing about his future. Salah has previously been linked with a £150 million move to Saudi Arabia’s Al Ittihad, but it appears he is now focused on opportunities in Europe.

Reports suggest Salah is against a move to the Saudi Pro League after seeing former teammate Sadio Mane’s experience there. Instead, he has expressed a desire to sign a new deal with Liverpool before the season ends. In the aftermath of Liverpool’s win over Manchester United, Salah himself added pressure on the club, saying, “Nobody in the club talked to me yet about contracts, so I was just like, ‘OK, I play my last season and see at the end of the season.'”

However, new reports from Spain claim Salah is open to “surprise” offers from two major European clubs, with Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus among the interested parties. At 33 next June, Salah is drawing comparisons to Cristiano Ronaldo, with pundit Jamie Carragher suggesting his longevity will allow him to keep performing at a high level into his late 30s.
