Big Brother Naija alums and cousins, Neo and Venita Akpofure, stole the spotlight at the 10th African Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) Cultural Day held in Lagos on Friday night, May 10.

Neo clinched the Best Dressed Male award, while Venita bagged the Best Dressed Female title for the second year running.

The duo dazzled in traditional Itsekiri royal attire during the cultural celebration leading up to the 10th AMVCA Main Awards Ceremony scheduled for Saturday, May 11, at Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos, Nigeria.

The AMVCA, an annual event hosted by MultiChoice to honor excellence in television and film, has become a cornerstone of African entertainment, showcasing the glitz, glamour, and talent that define the continent’s entertainment industry.

The race for the ‘Best Movie’ category features strong contenders like the blockbuster film ‘A Tribe Of Judah,’ which grossed a staggering N1.3 billion across cinemas in Africa and Europe. However, it faces stiff competition from films such as ‘Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti,’ ‘Breath of Life,’ ‘Over The Bridge,’ ‘Blood Vessel,’ ‘The Black Book,’ and the fantasy film ‘Mami Wata.’

The outcome of this category could also influence the ‘Best Director’ award, with nominees including Moses Inwang (‘Blood Vessel’), Adebayo Tijani & Tope Adebayo (‘Jagun Jagun’), BB Sasore (‘Breath of Life’), Johnscott Enah (‘Half Heaven’), C. J. Fiery Obasi (‘Mami Wata’), Kayode Kasum (‘Afamefuna’), and Tolu Ajayi (‘Over The Bridge’).
