Taking to social media , Nissi addressed Davido’s comment from the interview. Davido claimed that he and Wizkid played a significant role in the worldwide afrobeats wave and mentioned that the “new cats” like Burna Boy, Rema, Asake, and others have taken the genre to new heights.

During the interview, Davido stated, “Everybody knows that I was one of the first, me and Wizkid to blow up. It feels good also seeing that the new cats coming up; like Burna Boy, Rema, Fireboy, Rema, Asake, and Mayorkun.”
Davido’s remark sparked reactions from fans, particularly regarding his labeling of Burna Boy as a “new cat” on social media. In response, Nissi shared a video of Burna Boy performing in front of a massive crowd of over 80,000 fans at the London Stadium. She captioned the video with, “New cats are facing their hustle.”
