Paul Pogba Receives Offer from Russian League Amid Doping Ban

Broke Boys Club Extends Invitation to French Star Following Four-Year Suspension

French football star Paul Pogba has received an unexpected offer to join the ranks of the Broke Boys, a team in Russia’s celebrity-hosted football league, amidst the fallout from his recent four-year doping ban.

The ban was imposed earlier this month by Italy’s National Anti-Doping Tribunal after Pogba tested positive for DHEA, a substance that can enhance athletes’ endurance by increasing testosterone levels. The suspension, initiated in September following the initial test results, has cast uncertainty over the midfielder’s future in professional football.

In response to the ban, Pogba confirmed his intention to appeal the decision at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne, Switzerland, expressing his determination to share his full story once free from legal constraints. However, doubts linger over the 29-year-old’s ability to resume his football career, especially considering his age when the ban expires.

Amidst this uncertainty, reports from Tuttosport indicate that Pogba has received an offer to join Broke Boys, a team in the Media Football League, a championship featuring celebrities from various fields including actors and influencers. Artjom Chatjaturjan, the sporting director of Broke Boys, revealed that they had reached out to Pogba, though the French star has yet to accept the proposal.

Chatjaturjan stated, “It may seem like a joke, but we called him,” adding, “So far he has politely refused. He is in a desperate moment and needs time to accept it.” Recognizing Pogba’s talent, Chatjaturjan acknowledged that the Frenchman might not have many more years left to play at the top level.

The proposed offer includes a monthly salary of £1,167 along with additional benefits, including luxurious accommodation in Odintsovo, Russia, exclusively for Pogba, and not shared with other players. The offer was communicated to Pogba and his agent Rafaela Pimenta in a formal letter from Chatjaturjan.

As Pogba contemplates his next steps amid the doping ban, the offer from Broke Boys presents a unique opportunity for the football star to continue playing while navigating the challenges posed by his suspension.
