Manchester City’s head coach Pep Guardiola has fired back at Roy Keane following the pundit’s recent remarks labeling Erling Haaland as a “League Two” player.

After a lackluster goalless draw between Man City and Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, which saw Liverpool gain an advantage in the Premier League title race, criticism was directed towards Haaland for his subdued performance in the attacking third.

Despite Haaland’s impressive goal-scoring record of 81 goals in 88 games for City, Sky Sports pundit Roy Keane lambasted the striker’s overall gameplay, likening it to that of a player from England’s League Two.

Guardiola, speaking ahead of City’s upcoming league clash with Aston Villa, vehemently defended his star attacker against Keane’s critique.

Disagreeing with Keane’s assessment, Guardiola emphasized Haaland’s status as the world’s best striker and highlighted his significant contributions to City’s successes.

The manager also underscored the need for greater offensive presence from the entire team, rather than solely attributing shortcomings to Haaland.
