The Liverpool star’s future remains uncertain amid contract speculation and ongoing admiration from global football figures.
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has expressed his admiration for Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah but clarified that the French club is not pursuing the Egyptian star. Salah, whose contract with Liverpool runs until June 2025, has fueled speculation about his future after hinting at dissatisfaction with the progress of renewal talks.
“I love Salah because of what he’s done for our part of the world,” Al-Khelaifi, a Qatari national, said. “I’m very proud of him and for what he’s done in the Premier League with Liverpool. I have great respect for him and Liverpool. We’ve never spoken to him. Respect Liverpool and respect the player – he has a contract with Liverpool, and we’ve never spoken to him.”
Salah’s stellar performances this season have underscored his enduring brilliance at age 32. Under the guidance of Liverpool manager Arne Slot, the Egyptian has led the Reds to the top of the Premier League, recording 13 goals and eight assists in just 14 matches. He has found the net in each of his last seven league appearances.
His most recent display against Newcastle United showcased his class, as Salah scored twice and provided an assist in a thrilling 3-3 draw at St. James’ Park.
While reports have linked Salah to potential moves, including a lucrative offer from the Saudi Pro League, PSG’s stance suggests that his next destination, if he leaves Liverpool, remains uncertain. As January approaches, Salah will be eligible to negotiate with other clubs, setting the stage for further developments in his illustrious career.
