Danish Sensation Highlights Loyalty to Old Trafford Despite Spanish Giants’ Interest
In a steadfast declaration of allegiance, Rasmus Hojlund has affirmed his commitment to Manchester United amidst swirling speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid.
The Danish international made waves during the summer transfer window with his high-profile switch from Serie A side Atalanta to Old Trafford, in a staggering deal valued at £72 million.
However, the 21-year-old initially faced challenges acclimating to the rigors of the Premier League during the first half of the 23/24 season.
After a period of adaptation, Hojlund’s breakthrough arrived in December when he notched his maiden league goal during a pulsating 3-2 triumph over Aston Villa. With 11 goals and two assists in 29 appearances across various competitions, the young striker is gradually finding his stride at the iconic club.
Despite reports swirling around a potential move to the Spanish La Liga juggernauts, Real Madrid, fueled by observations from Spanish news outlet DefensaCentral regarding Madrid’s interest in Hojlund, the Danish forward has unequivocally expressed his desire to remain at Old Trafford.
Hojlund affirmed, “Right now the club is going through a process, and I would very much like to be a part of it. This is also why I have chosen to come here now, because I feel I can grow with the club, and hopefully we can win a lot of trophies together.”
When reflecting on his affinity for Manchester United, Hojlund reminisced, “I think that Rasmus at ten would probably be ‘buzzing,’ as they say over here in England. (He) set himself a goal, so that’s what I’ve gone after.”
The Danish sensation had previously articulated his aspirations and contentment with his current club, emphasizing the synchronicity between himself and Manchester United. In an earlier interview with a Danish TV station, Hojlund had remarked, “It’s about dreaming big and daring to dream big. Otherwise, you will not reach your goals. It’s rare you get everything in one package, but I’d say everything has just come together with me and Manchester United. It’s a perfect match.”
