Sophia Momodu Opposes Davido’s Bid for Joint Custody of Their Daughter

Legal Dispute Intensifies as Singer and First Babymama Clash Over Child Custody

Sophia Momodu, the first babymama of award-winning singer Davido, has reportedly filed a counter affidavit opposing his request for joint custody of their daughter. Just days before his traditional wedding, Davido filed a suit seeking joint custody, claiming Sophia was denying him access to their daughter and extorting money from him.

Davido stated that although he had a past relationship with Sophia, it ended years ago. Despite their agreement to co-parent, he claimed that Sophia rejected his offer to provide a house and instead demanded he pay a N5 million monthly rent.

In response, Sophia disclosed that she had an affair with Davido from 2020-2022 while he was dating Chioma. She denied his accusations of denying him access to their daughter, revealing that Davido had never tried to meet Imade and abandoned her because she refused to have sex with him.

Reports now indicate that Sophia has filed a detailed 102-paragraph affidavit through her legal team, Dr. Anthony Idigbe SAN of Punuka Attorneys and Dr. Bimpe Ajegbomogun, to oppose Davido’s request for joint custody.

The next hearing for the estranged couple is scheduled for Friday, July 5, 2024.

The ongoing legal battle has sparked debate, with many questioning why Sophia is resisting Davido’s access to their daughter.
