Grammy-Winning Artist Reflects on Audience Reception
Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, known as Tems, recently shared her views on how her music is received by Nigerians. In an interview, Tems revealed that while she feels personally appreciated by her fellow Nigerians, she is unsure if they fully understand her music.
When asked about the level of appreciation and understanding her music receives in Nigeria, Tems explained, “Understand, no. I don’t know if they appreciate my music but I feel appreciated as a person by Nigerians.” Despite this uncertainty, Tems values the personal connection she has with her audience.
