Transfer gossip: Man Utd face competition for France striker as Liverpool rival Red Devils for Ajax star

Manchester United could face a bidding war over Randal Kolo Muani with Bayern and Real Madrid, while Ajax have made their demands clear for Jurrien Timber…

UNITED HAVE COMPETITION FOR KANE ALTERNATIVE
On Monday, it was Tammy Abraham. On Tuesday it was Lautaro Martinez’s turn. Today, Manchester United’s alternative target to Harry Kane seems to be Randal Kolo Muani.

With Tottenham set to demand in excess of £100million for Kane, the Red Devils are considering other options in case Daniel Levy chooses to stand his ground. Which, of course, he will.

United are said to be ‘the club pushing hardest’ to sign Kolo Muani but Eintracht Frankfurt won’t roll over to have their bellies tickled either. The France striker, with 20 goals and 14 assists in all competitions this season, is valued in a similar bracket to Kane but aged 24, he’s seen as a longer term investment.

It doesn’t help United that a bidding war could break out. Bayern Munich need a centre-forward, while Real Madrid are looking for long-term replacements for Karim Benzema. According to Le10 Sport, both clubs are keen on Kolo Muani, who has seven caps for France.

RED DEVILS TOLD TIMBER PRICE
United are also in the market for another centre-back and they continue to be linked with Jurrien Timber.

The Holland defender was a target for the Red Devils last summer but Ajax stood firm, with Timber choosing to stay where he was ahead of the World Cup.

Sky Germany says Erik ten Hag’s interest remains, and Liverpool are also sniffing around the 21-year-old. But Ajax are still keen to keep Timber and will only sell if their £44million valuation is met.

BAYERN MAY BID FOR HAVERTZ
Kai Havertz came off the bench for Chelsea at half-time last night – probably reluctantly, at 3-0 down – and the Germany forward could be approaching the end of his time at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues need a top-class forward this summer and may have to sell to buy, especially if they intend to stay within FFP rules, and they could receive an offer from Bayern Munich for Havertz.

According to 90min, Bayern see the former Bayer Leverkusen star as a long-term replacement for Thomas Muller. The Bavarians could also be searching for another forward to replace Sadio Mane, who hasn’t impressed Tuchel since he took over.

Apparently, Bayern are hoping PSG might make them an offer, but they are also expecting interest from across the Premier League in the 31-year-old ex-Liverpool star.
