Transfer gossip: Man Utd ‘want’ two strikers worth £140m and asking price for Maguire is ‘slashed’

Erik ten Hag’s two preferred striker targets will cost £140m, while Tottenham and West Ham want to sign Man Utd defender Harry Maguire…

HARRY MAGUIRE ‘SET FOR A MOVE’
The England defender has endured a torrid season as he has found himself behind Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane in the pecking order at Old Trafford. Erik ten Hag is clearly not his biggest fan as the head coach as even played Luke Shaw at centre-back over him at times this campaign.

The £80m man will need to leave Man Utd if he wants to play regularly next season and – according to Football Transfers – his price has been ‘slashed’.

Maguire is ‘set for a move’ this summer and Man Utd ‘will accept a bid in the region of £40m’ because they are ‘so keen to allow him to leave’. The report claims he has previously been valued at £50m.

The 30-year-old ‘could make a move’ to Tottenham or West Ham this summer. A switch to Spurs is apparently ‘likely to hinge on the presence of Brendan Rodgers’, who is a contender to replace Ryan Mason.

Tottenham are also ‘tracking’ Man City defender Aymeric Laporte, while West Ham ‘are the other club interested’ in Maguire.

ERIK TEN HAG ‘WANTS’ TWO STRIKERS
Man Utd need to sell players to raise funds and Maguire’s potential exit could boost their pursuit of a new forward (or two).

With Wout Weghorst and Anthony Martial likely to move on, the Red Devils are desperate to strengthen up front. The Times are reporting that ‘they could sign two strikers’, with Atalanta forward Rasmus Hojlund ‘joining Harry Kane on their shortlist’.

Ten Hag is looking to ‘sign an elite striker — with Tottenham Hotspur’s Kane topping the wanted list — and an up-and-coming forward, which is where Hojlund comes into the equation’.

Hojlund cost Atalanta £15m last summer but he ‘could now be available for around £40m’. Kane meanwhile is priced at £100m, even though he is about to enter the final year of his contract at Spurs.

ARSENAL AND LIVERPOOL IN FIGHT FOR KIMMICH
Joshua Kimmich is nearing the end of his eighth season at Bayern Munich and he could be on the move during this summer’s transfer window.

According to 90min, the midfielder ‘is the subject of growing transfer interest from across Europe as he considers his future at the club’.

His ‘intermediaries have reached out to a number of Europe’s elite clubs to gauge the level of interest in Kimmich’. Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United  ‘have been contacted’, while ‘conversations have been held’ with Barcelona, Real Madrid and PSG.

Clubs have been informed that Kimmich ‘is unsettled and contemplating his options’. The report claims ‘most’ of the eight teams have ‘made it clear that they would be interested in pursuing a deal if the Germany international became available’. At the moment, Bayern are ‘adamant that they will not sell the midfielder’.
