Transfer gossip: Mount ‘agrees personal terms’ with Man Utd as Chelsea pave way for Man City move

Chelsea are giving their Premier League rivals a couple of their best players, while Newcastle are doing everything they can to stop Brunoooo going to Liverpool…

Mason Mount has reportedly agreed personal terms with Manchester United over a move to Old Trafford.

Mount has been the subject of much speculation due to a contract standoff at Chelsea, with reports suggesting he’s rejected offers of a long new deal on vastly different terms, likely hugely incentivised.

Arsenal and Liverpool have also been linked with the England international, but a report last week claimed Mount’s preference was to join United, and it now appears he’s taken a big step towards moving to the Red Devils.

The Daily Telegraph claim talks between United and Chelsea over a deal for Mount have intensified ever since the club met at Old Trafford last Thursday, and now a deal has been agreed in principle, between the player and United, who will now seek to seal a deal with the Blues.

Reports have claimed Chelsea want £85m for their two-time player of the year, but with just one year left on his current contract, it’s thought United will be unwilling to stretch to that figure.

Apparently fine with allowing their players to join Premier League rivals, Chelsea have also granted Mateo Kovacic permission to speak to Manchester City.

A report last month claimed Kovacic’s representatives had met with City officials in London over a potential move and, with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano now claiming Chelsea have allowed the Croatian international to negotiate with City as they’re willing to sell him as part of their ‘midfield revolution’.

Romano tweeted: “Manchester City have opened concrete talks to sign Kovacic in the summer”.

“Positive discussions took place with the player’s camp in the last few days over personal terms.

“Chelsea are open to selling Kovacic as part of their midfield revolution. Talks will continue soon.”

In a bid to ward off Liverpool, Real Madrid and Barcelona, Newcastle have reportedly offered Bruno Guimaraes a lucrative new contract.

The Brazilian has been a critical part of Eddie Howe’s this side and the powers that be at St James’ Park are ready to make the midfielder their best paid player, on £200,000-a-week, according to The Sun.

Liverpool have apparently ‘opened talks’ with Bruno over a move to Anfield, though dropping down a level from the Champions League to the Europa League would be an odd move.
