SAUDIS TO OFFER £200M FOR SALAH
With the closure of the transfer window in England and across most of the big leagues in Europe, most of the Gossip the morning after deadline day is centred on Mo Salah.
Liverpool rejected a £150million offer for the Egyptian star and, to them, the matter was closed. If only, lads.
The Saudis aren’t the sort to take ‘no’ for an answer. And with Salah seemingly open to making the move to Al-Ittihad, there is a sense of inevitability around Liverpool losing their main man.
Especially if the Saudis are willing to break the world transfer record. The Daily Mail says they are prepared to pay more than the £198million spent by PSG to take Neymar from Barcelona in 2017, with Liverpool set to be in receipt of a £200million offer in the coming days since the Saudi Pro League transfer window does not close until next Friday. Indeed, officials are said to have based themselves in Cannes to conduct the negotiations because, well, why not?
It all begs the question: if the Saudis were genuinely serious about Salah, why wasn’t this done days or weeks ago? They must have expected Liverpool’s reluctance this week given the lack of time the Reds would have to source a replacement. Do they really want Salah, or are they more interested in creating a noise?
If it is the former, then even with no possibility of recruiting until January, you could understand if Liverpool take the huge sum for a 31-year-old.
EVERTON STAR WON’T FOLLOW SALAH

Sky Sports says Demarai Gray also had the chance to seize the riches on offer in the Pro League but, instead, the 27-year-old has chosen to stay at Everton.
The day after the deadline is always littered with deals that never happened. At one point yesterday, it seemed that Patson Daka might be heading to AC Milan, and later on, Bournemouth was his destination, but the Zambia striker’s big moves fell through and he remains at Leicester.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg also had the chance to move on deadline day. But he didn’t fancy Fulham, and Fabrizio Romano says a switch to Atletico Madrid never materialised because Spurs could not convince the Spaniards to include an obligation to buy in any loan deal.
Che Adams looked to be heading back to the Premier League but The Athletic says Southampton blocked a loan move to Wolves that came with a £15million option to buy. Bournemouth were also keen on the Scotland striker, who is out of contract at St Mary’s next year.
