Having sold Declan Rice to Arsenal, the Hammers need a midfielder – or two – to replace their former skipper. The Evening Standard says they’ve been knocked back by Fulham after offering £45million for Joao Palhinha, so they’ve nipped up the road to Chelsea for Conor Gallagher.
Sky Germany says talks with the England midfielder have been positive and it is anticipated that West Ham will plonk £30million on Chelsea’s table, which the Blues will reportedly put towards an improved £70million bid for Moises Caicedo.
Then the Hammers will be on the blower to Bayern Munich to discuss Leon Goretzka. The 28-year-old could be allowed to leave Bavaria this summer, with Manchester United said to be monitoring his situation. Goretzka will cost between £35million to £43million.
MAN UTD REJECT LOAN OFFER FOR MAGUIRE

Maguire has been stripped of the captaincy which, for some reason, left him ‘shocked and angry’. Everyone else saw it coming a mile off. Regardless, the centre-back seems to have taken the hint because he’s now rather more open to leaving Old Trafford than he might have been.
West Ham are keen to take him, but The Guardian says the Irons have been snubbed after proposing a loan offer, possibly with an option to buy. The Hammers see little value in paying a huge fee for the 30-year-old, who is now on an even bigger salary after United qualified for the Champions League.

Having offered Jordan Henderson enough money to park his principles, Al-Ettifaq have started discussing a deal with West Ham striker Michail Antonio. So says The Times.
Fulham are doing their best to fend off Al-Hilal, having rejected two offers for Aleksandar Mitrovic. But Ben Jacobs says the Pro League side have returned with a third bid said to be worth £34million.
Aston Villa also have reason to be wary of Saudis flashing their cash with the Daily Mail reporting that Al-Nassr are keen to take Moussa Diaby from Bayer Leverkusen. Diaby has been a target for Villa, who have had one bid turned down for the 24-year-old France forward.
