In the aftermath of the brawl, law enforcement took swift action, arresting a total of 98 individuals who were involved in the violent conflict.

Dinamo Zagreb responded to the disturbing incident with a statement condemning the riots that took place in Athens, expressing strong disapproval of the violence that unfolded.

As a result of this tragic incident, UEFA, the governing body for European football, made the difficult decision to postpone the first-leg match of the Champions League qualifier between AEK Athens and Dinamo Zagreb. The Croatian club confirmed the match cancellation in the wake of the unfortunate events. The second leg of this contest had initially been scheduled for August 15 in Zagreb.
