Violent Brawl Erupts Between England and Serbia Fans Before Euro 2024 Match (Video)

Thrilling Win for England Overshadowed by Pre-Match Chaos

England kicked off their Euro 2024 campaign with a win against Serbia on Sunday at the Arena AufSchalke in Gelsenkirchen. Jude Bellingham shone as the star player, scoring the decisive goal just 13 minutes into the Group C opener. However, the match was overshadowed by a violent brawl involving England, Serbia, and Albanian fans before the game.

The altercation erupted in a bar in Gelsenkirchen, with reports suggesting that Albanian fans initiated the clash against their rivals, the Serbian fans. England fans soon joined in, escalating the situation into a mass brawl. Social media was flooded with videos and images of the incident, showing broken tables, chairs, and glass bottles.

“There was a sudden burst of violence. It came out of nowhere. It was unclear who started what, but it seemed like a group of England fans rushed the bar where Serbs were drinking, and it all kicked off with tables, chairs, and bottles thrown,” an eyewitness told MailOnline. The witness also noted that one man, believed to be English, had blood pouring from a head wound.

Due to the violent clash, German police declared the match between England and Serbia as “high risk,” resulting in seven Serbian fans being taken into custody.

Despite the pre-match chaos, Bellingham delivered a stellar performance on the field. He initiated the move with a precise pass to Kyle Walker before racing into the penalty area to meet Bukayo Saka’s cross with a diving header, scoring from six yards out. Bellingham’s goal sparked jubilant celebrations with his teammates and the England supporters.
