The Nigerian star claims her catalog was removed after skipping a media event.
Grammy-nominated Nigerian singer Yemi Alade has called out Clout Africa and Cool FM, accusing the two prominent media outlets of blacklisting her music after she missed an event they hosted.
The “Johnny” hitmaker took to X (formerly Twitter) to express her frustration, alleging that both platforms have removed her entire music catalog and ignored her attempts to apologize.
A Year-Long Blacklist
According to Alade, the blacklisting began a year ago after she opted not to attend a joint event organized by Clout Africa and Cool FM. Despite reaching out with apologies via calls and text messages, the singer claims her efforts were met with silence.
In a series of fiery tweets, Alade criticized the leadership at both outlets, accusing them of being vindictive and unprofessional.
“My God, BIG PASS YOUR WHOLE station @cloutafrica @CoolFMNigeria. Keep on forming gatekeepers and taking my songs down. NA GOD BE MY LABEL AND MANAGEMENT, we go meet for front. Fake people wey dey feel like small gods.”
Alade expressed her disbelief at the persistence of the alleged grudge, adding:
“Una dey carry person for mind … for 1 year @cloutafrica and @CoolFMNigeria. Shameful, very shameless.”
She also highlighted her global achievements, stating:
“My team and I have traveled round the world, met with Presidents and many important people. If there is a problem, we resolve it. But @CoolFMNigeria and @cloutafrica dey form say dem no dey forgive for free show?”

Community Reactions and Implications
Yemi Alade’s tweets sparked a flurry of reactions from fans and industry professionals, with many expressing disappointment over the alleged actions of the media outlets. Others called for reconciliation, urging both sides to resolve the matter amicably.
Neither Clout Africa nor Cool FM has publicly responded to Alade’s accusations.
A Call for Fairness
This controversy has reignited discussions about the power dynamics between media outlets and artists in the Nigerian music industry. Many are calling for greater professionalism and transparency in handling such disputes.
For Alade, however, her message remains clear: her career and success are not reliant on any single entity.
“God go still give me food. Life is a marathon, not a sprint.”
The situation is a developing story, with fans eagerly awaiting a response from the accused parties.
