Afrobeats Superstar Says Relentless Touring Schedule Makes Fatherhood Impossible
Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy has revealed he won’t be settling down to start a family in the near future, telling BBC Radio 1Xtra that his non-stop touring lifestyle makes it impossible to imagine being a present father.
The 34-year-old African Giant, currently in the midst of his global “I Told Them” tour, admitted he hasn’t taken a real vacation since launching his career. “I don’t want to start [a family] while I’m living on the road,” the Nigerian superstar confessed. “This music life doesn’t leave room for half measures – either you’re all in on your art or you’re not.”
With sold-out shows across four continents and new music constantly in the works, Burna Boy joked that he’s “married to the grind” for now. His comments come as he prepares for yet another landmark year, following his historic 2024 Grammy performance and record-breaking streaming numbers.
While fans might dream of little Burnas running around someday, the workaholic singer made it clear: for now, the only babies he’s focused on are his next musical creations.
