DMW Dissolved as Davido Takes Charge of Artist Development and A&R
Renowned Nigerian singer and music executive David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has made a significant industry move by partnering with UnitedMasters to introduce his new record label, Nine+ Records. This announcement came through an official statement on Davido’s Twitter page signaling a major shift in his organizational structure.
As part of this restructuring, Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), Davido’s former label, has been officially dissolved. Under the terms of the new partnership with UnitedMasters, Davido will lead artist development and A&R (Artists and Repertoire) efforts for a lineup of Nigerian talents under Nine+ Records.
This strategic decision reflects Davido’s commitment to nurturing and promoting local talent within the Nigerian music industry. Notably, all artistes currently signed to DMW, including Peruzzi, Logos Olori, Liya, and others, will be transitioning to Nine+ Records as part of this shift.
Among the artistes initially signed to DMW were Dremo, Peruzzi, Idowest, DJ Ecool, Danagog, B-Red, Deekay, Liya, Morravey, and Logos Olori. This move signifies a new era for Davido’s career as he takes on a more hands-on role in shaping the careers of emerging Nigerian musicians and expanding his influence within the music industry.
The launch of Nine+ Records in collaboration with UnitedMasters is anticipated to bring fresh opportunities and innovations to the Nigerian music scene, with Davido’s expertise and vision driving the label’s success and impact in the coming years.
