D’banj Announces Legendary Afrobeats Tour with 2Baba and Timaya

“It’s Time to Come Back” – Music Icons Plan Joint Celebration of Afrobeats’ Global Rise

London, UK – Afrobeats pioneer D’banj has revealed exciting plans for a major joint tour with fellow Nigerian music legends 2Baba and Timaya, marking a powerful reunion of the genre’s trailblazers.

The Oliver Twist superstar shared the news in a heartfelt interview with Adesope Live in London, reflecting on Afrobeats’ incredible journey from a local West African sound to a global phenomenon.

A Tour Decades in the Making

“I was speaking with Timaya the other day, and he said, ‘Banger, you’ve entrepreneured enough—it’s time to come out!’” D’banj recalled with a laugh. “And I told him the same thing. Then 2Face said, ‘Let’s go on tour together.’ So yes, we’re making it happen—myself, 2Face, and Timaya. We’ve got the hits, the history, and the love of the fans.”

The tour, which D’banj hinted might be called The Feeling Good Tour (after his upcoming collaboration with 2Baba), will celebrate their decades of influence on Afrobeats. “This is more than just music—it’s a thank-you to everyone who believed in us,” he said.

From Struggle to Global Domination

D’banj reminisced about the early days when Nigerian artists faced an uphill battle for recognition. “Back then in London, nobody wanted to say they were Nigerian—everyone wanted to be Jamaican,” he said. “Now, Afrobeats is everywhere. You can’t watch a UK movie without hearing our sound. That’s a victory for all of us—the artists, the fans, the whole African community.”

With Afrobeats now dominating global charts, the tour promises to be both a nostalgic throwback and a celebration of how far the genre has come. As D’banj put it: “We’re not just artists—we’re history makers.”

Fans can expect more details soon—including dates for what might be the most iconic Afrobeats tour yet.
