Star-Studded Nigerian Series Set to Premiere on Netflix December 13

Nigerian actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele is showing her support for fellow actor and producer Femi Adebayo as he gears up for the release of his much-anticipated series, Seven Doors. Sharing the official trailer on Instagram, Akindele expressed her excitement and encouraged fans to mark their calendars for the December 13 premiere on Netflix.

“Dem don open door o!!!!!💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽,” she wrote. “Can’t wait to see this limited series Seven Doors by @femiadebayosalami. Congrats Femi!!! This one go loud o!!! Out on #Netflix December 13!!! Legggooooooo.”

A New Milestone After Jagun Jagun

In a recent interview with Independence, Femi Adebayo hinted that Seven Doors would surpass his critically acclaimed film Jagun Jagun. He revealed the series features a unique dual-era narrative set in the 18th and 19th centuries, blending traditional Yoruba settings with elements of Nigeria’s mid-20th-century history.

“The next movie that I said is bigger than Jagun Jagun is titled Seven Doors,” Adebayo said. “It’s set in two eras—the 18th century and the 19th century—which means we have the old-school setting with those 504s and Volkswagens, and it also takes us back to that kind of Jagun Jagun environment.

“It’s a mix, featuring multiple tribes. It’s about a Yoruba king married to an Igbo woman, with a Hausa man coming to invest. It’s a showcase of Nigerian culture.”

A Star-Studded Cast

The series features a lineup of Nigerian cinema heavyweights, including Femi Adebayo, Chioma Akpotha, Wumi Toriola, Yinka Quadri, Oshodi Oke, Dayo Amusa, Adebayo Salami, and Gabriel Afolayan. The cultural fusion and storytelling depth have sparked excitement among fans and critics alike.
