Theilvig outshone 124 other contestants from across the globe to claim the coveted title, succeeding Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua, the 2023 Miss Universe.

A Historic Pageant

This year’s Miss Universe embraced inclusivity like never before, featuring 18 mothers among its contestants and debut appearances from nations such as Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Moldova, and Somalia.

The pageant began with a record-breaking 125 participants, narrowing down to 30 semifinalists. Following the swimsuit segment, 12 contestants advanced to the evening gown round, where the top five finalists were selected.

The final five—representing Nigeria, Denmark, Thailand, Mexico, and Venezuela—underwent two rounds of questions and a final parade. Mexico, Thailand, and Venezuela secured third, fourth, and fifth places, respectively.

Adetshina’s Inspiring Journey

Adetshina’s journey has been nothing short of inspiring. After overcoming rejection and making history as Miss Universe Nigeria, her first runner-up finish cements her status as a global icon and role model.

A Crown and a New Chapter

Victoria Kjaer Theilvig’s victory comes with more than a crown. The 2024 Miss Universe will embark on a global tour spanning 30 countries, receive a year’s supply of cosmetics and jewelry, and, for the first time in the pageant’s history, host her own travel show.
