In a significant development, the Lagos State Police have pointed to Feyisayo Ogedengbe, an auxiliary nurse, as the prime suspect in the death of Nigerian singer Mohbad, who passed away on September 12 and was subsequently buried the next day.
The circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s untimely demise have sparked widespread controversy on social media. The police have taken several individuals into custody for questioning, including Feyisayo Ogedengbe, Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and Primeboy, as part of the ongoing investigation into the singer’s death. Joseph Aloba, Mohbad’s father, had previously stated that his son died after receiving an injection administered by the auxiliary nurse.
During a press briefing on Friday afternoon, Idowu Owohunwa, the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, provided updates on the investigation into Mohbad’s death. Owohunwa revealed that the auxiliary nurse administered multiple and highly potent injections that triggered an immediate reaction leading to the singer’s death. The injections, consisting of tetanus toxoid, paracetamol, and Ceftriaxone, were reportedly administered at Mohbad’s residence.
The Commissioner detailed the events, stating, “At about 14:35hrs of 12th September 2023, Miss Feyisayo eventually arrived armed with one pack of Ceftriaxone injection, one paracetamol injection, several needles, and syringes.” He continued, “Miss Feyisayo administered the drugs, and Mohbad started vomiting, while goosebumps appeared on his face, reacting to the administered medications.”

Five suspects have been identified, arrested, detained, and interrogated regarding their alleged roles in the sequence of events leading to the singer’s death.
The tragic incident has ignited nationwide protests, with thousands of Nigerians demanding justice for Mohbad. In a significant step, the police exhumed Mohbad’s corpse for autopsy on September 21, and the public is now awaiting the results of this crucial examination.
