The MTV EMA 2023 awards may have been cancelled due to “volatility of world events,” but the organisers have confirmed the full list of winners in an official announcement via their website.
Rema and Diamond Platnumz Crowned Best Afrobeats and Best African Act Respectively
Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Rema was crowned the Best Afrobeats Artist of 2023, with Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz receiving the Best African Act award of 2023 as well.

Other notable winners include Taylor Swift for Best Artist and Best Live, Billie Eilish for Best Pop, and Nicki Minaj for Best Hip Hop.
