However, Neymar’s time at PSG has been a mixed spell, partly due to injuries, and he has also faced criticism from PSG ultras during his recent spell on the sidelines. According to CBS Sports, representatives from Al-Hilal have traveled to France to discuss a potential transfer with Neymar. The report indicates that if the Brazilian star chooses to make the switch to the Saudi Pro League, he could earn wages similar to those of Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr.
After narrowly missing out on signing Lionel Messi, who has opted to join Inter Miami in Major League Soccer (MLS), Al-Hilal has funds available to secure a star player. Other notable players have also been linked with moves to the league, including Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante, Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Joao Moutinho, and Manchester City playmaker Riyad Mahrez. However, these players may not meet the level of marquee addition that Al-Hilal is aiming for as they seek to improve on their third-placed finish from last season.
Neymar still has two years remaining on his PSG contract, but the likelihood of a contract renewal seems slim as the club adopts a new strategy regarding future signings. PSG has already agreed to sign Sporting Lisbon midfielder Manuel Ugarte for £52 million and Real Madrid playmaker on a free transfer.
