Prominent Nigerian author and political commentator Reno Omokri has taken to social media to issue a bold challenge to AriseTV, a prominent Nigerian news outlet. In a tweet, Omokri pledged to pay $100,000 to anyone who can provide concrete evidence regarding the educational records of Nigerian politician Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly focusing on his time at Chicago State University.
Omokri, known for his vocal presence on social and political issues, is calling for the publication of a subpoena made out to Chicago State University and a response from the university regarding Tinubu’s admission, attendance, and graduation. He also seeks to clarify whether the Bola A. Tinubu associated with the institution is, in fact, a female.
In his tweet, Omokri accuses AriseTV of perpetuating fake news and spreading misinformation, allegedly due to their support for Peter Obi, another prominent Nigerian politician.
To ensure the challenge’s transparency and fairness, Omokri has reportedly submitted his bank statement to Archbishop John Praise Daniel, the Deputy President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, who will serve as an impartial adjudicator.
Omokri’s challenge is open not only to AriseTV but also to investigative journalists and members of the public who are interested in participating. The first person to successfully meet the challenge’s criteria will be awarded the $100,000 prize.
