Nigerian Singer Reveals Details of Working on Beyoncé’s “Renaissance” Album
Nigerian singer Tems has opened up about her thrilling experience collaborating with American superstar Beyoncé on her 2022 album, “Renaissance.”
In an interview with the New York Times, Tems shared the initial shock and excitement she felt upon learning about the opportunity. Speaking with Culture Reporter Reggie Ugwu, Tems recounted receiving a surprising message from her team that required immediate action.
“My team just messaged me like, ‘Yo, first of all, I have to send you something to sign.’ I was losing my mind. Like, What?!” she said. The message included a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) which she had to sign before proceeding.
After signing the NDA, Tems was invited to Los Angeles to collaborate in the studio, leading to the creation of the track “Move,” featured on Beyoncé’s Grammy-nominated album “Renaissance.”
Tems has also worked with other high-profile artists, including Drake, Rihanna, and Future. Notably, she featured on Future’s Grammy-winning track “Wait For U,” which also includes a collaboration with Drake.
