Tinubu Announces New Presidential Media Advisory Team with Emphasis on Merit and Federal Character

Diverse Appointments Aim to Propel Nigeria’s Renewed Hope for a Restructured Economy and Unified Society

In a recent statement released by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, President Bola Tinubu has officially appointed a new team to serve in the Office of the President under the Media & Publicity Directorate. The appointments are made in accordance with Nigeria’s federal character principle and a commitment to merit-based selections.

The following individuals have been approved by President Tinubu to join the Media & Publicity Directorate, each assigned a specific role:

  1. Mr. Fela Durotoye – Senior Special Assistant to the President — National Values & Social Justice
  2. Mr. Fredrick Nwabufo – Senior Special Assistant to the President — Public Engagement
  3. Mrs. Linda Nwabuwa Akhigbe – Senior Special Assistant to the President — Strategic Communications
  4. Mr. Aliyu Audu – Special Assistant to the President — Public Affairs
  5. Mr. Francis Adah Abah – Personal Assistant to the President — Special Duties

Additionally, President Tinubu has given his approval for the secondment of Mrs. Linda Nwabuwa Akhigbe to serve as the Communications Adviser to the President of the ECOWAS Commission.

The President has issued a directive to all new appointees within the Media & Publicity Directorate, urging them to maintain the highest standards of decorum and decency in their interactions with the public. The President’s expectation is that these individuals will play a crucial role in advancing his determined agenda to renew the hope of Nigerians in a restructured economy and a unified society that caters to the diverse needs of all citizens.
