Transfer gossip: Man Utd’s Mason Mount valuation revealed as Chelsea eye PSG star

Mason Mount may be leaning towards Manchester United but the Red Devils will have to raise their valuation of the England star, who could yet stay at Chelsea…

MAN UTD WANT SWIFT MOUNT MOVE
There appears to have been a twist in the tale over Mason Mount’s future. The Chelsea midfielder, due to enter the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge, has been a target for Liverpool and Arsenal. But on Wednesday, it emerged via The Athletic, that Mount is leaning towards joining Manchester United.

The Daily Mail adds that the England international is a primary target for Erik ten Hag and the United boss wants a deal done quickly. Talks over the 24-year-old are set to commence while he nurses an abdominal injury that ended his season prematurely.

One potential hitch: United are willing to pay £55million – way below Chelsea’s reported valuation of £85million. Which is a ludicrous sum for a player a year away from free agency. But the Blues haven’t yet given up hope of keeping the academy graduate, with 90min suggesting talks are planned between Mount and the club next week.

CHELSEA EYE POCH-PAREDES REUNION
Regardless of whether Mount moves this summer, Chelsea are looking to PSG for midfield reinforcements.

Apparently, the Blues are among the clubs eyeing up Leandro Paredes. The Argentina international has spent the season on loan at Juventus but he and Angel Di Maria will be returning to Paris at the end of the season.

Paredes probably won’t stick around. The 28-year-old has worked under Mauricio Pochettino previously at PSG and ESPN says Chelsea, as well as Atletico Madrid, have been in touch with the defensive midfielder, while Boca Juniors are also willing to bring their former player back to Argentina.

VILLA RIVAL WEST HAM FOR FOXES STAR
Survival Sunday is almost here, with Everton, Leeds and Leicester all soiling their shorts in the run up to the final day of the season.

The vultures are already circling, waiting to peck away at the carcasses of whichever clubs drop out of the top flight. West Ham are preparing to swoop on Leeds and Leicester, with The Sun suggesting the Hammers want Jack Harrison while also maintaining an interest in Harvey Barnes.

But there is a queue forming for Barnes, with The Independent putting Aston Villa at the front of it. Apparently, the lure of working with Unai Emery, the package on offer, and the prospect of staying in the Midlands are all attractive to the 25-year-old.
