Businessman Denies Claims of Nigerian Musicians Owning Private Jets

Clarifies that most rely on charter services, with Davido flying his father’s jet.

A prominent businessman in the aviation industry has dismissed viral claims that Nigerian singers own private jets. The clarification follows a video shared by a fan of Grammy Award-winning artist Burna Boy, suggesting that the singer had his own jet.

The businessman, a co-founder of a private jet charter company, stressed that no artists in the Nigerian music industry actually own private jets. He explained that most musicians rely on charter services for their air travel.

He noted that the only exception is Davido, the DMW record label head, who flies in a private jet owned by his billionaire father, Adedeji Adeleke, rather than owning one himself.

“Nobody owns a jet in the Nigerian music industry. It’s all charter, apart from Davido who flies his Dad’s jet,” the businessman tweeted.

He also clarified that his statement was not meant to criticize anyone and emphasized that chartering a jet, while costly, should not be considered as leading a “fake life.”
