Transfer Gossip: Liverpool get $100m-plus offer as Man Utd still lead Amrabat race

Liverpool have a big decision to make after a ‘huge offer’ while Manchester United lead the race for Sofyan Amrabat…

LIVERPOOL LEFT WITH BIG SALAH DECISION
Fabrizio Romano says that Mo Salah is “untouchable” but is he still untouchable if a club offers around £80m for a 31-year-old? It’s a big decision and it’s one Liverpool have to make, if Rudy Galetti is to be believed. He tweeted late on Tuesday night: ‘#AlIttihad don’t give up for #Salah: the SA club sent a huge offer (more than $100m) to convince especially #Klopp – who rejected the idea of his farewell so far – to let him go. If #Liverpool will accept, it’ll be the most expensive deal in the history of Saudi League.’

That is truly massive money and will test the theory espoused earlier on Tuesday by Romano that “the position of Liverpool is very clear. Salah is untouchable, with Fabinho and Henderson they did something special, as they allowed the players to leave. But they don’t want Mo Salah to leave.”

MAN UTD STILL IN AMRABAT SEAT
The news out of Italy is that Fiorentina want the Sofyan Amrabat exit to be sealed by the end of this week so they are not going into the final week of the transfer window unsure about their squad. So why don’t Manchester United just make a decisive move?

Transfer expert Dean Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “The interest from Atletico Madrid has been so serious for so long that I am slightly surprised he’s still available and waiting, but maybe that shows just how keen he is on Man Utd.

“We’re getting to crunch time now when he wants to know if this will be feasible. In the past, there have been plenty of times when a player has prioritised a move to a certain club, but when it comes to it, they turn to another option late on.

“This fear that Liverpool would join the race has been slightly eased, but the thought of this happening was a bit of a wake-up call. United’s struggle to get players out the door could cost them here, but because of this indication that Amrabat will give them every chance to sort the deal out in the next week, there is still hope.”

Interest from Atletico Madrid is said to have eased after a proposed move from Rodrigo de Paul to Saudi Arabia fell through.

BALOGUNNER LEAVE?
There has been extensive talk of a £50m price tag for Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun but the Daily Mirror’s John Cross claims that the Gunners would ultimately accept a fee of just over £40m for the US international if Chelsea solidify their interest. The player himself is understandably very keen to make the move to Chelsea.

Monaco and Fulham have also shown interest but the French club are the only interested suitors to get even close to the asking price with a £34m bid for Balogun.
