Transfer gossip: Kane latest, PSG switch striker targets, Napoli wait on new Osimhen bid

The Gossip brings word on the futures of three of the hottest strikers in Europe, while Liverpool are expected to wheel and deal with Barca over a centre-back…

PSG MOVE ON MUANI
PSG have been around the houses somewhat in the search for a new striker. They asked about Victor Osimhen but despite Napoli acknowledging that PSG are the only club who could afford to buy Serie A’s top scorer, it might cost them around £170million.

Harry Kane would be much cheaper while he is a year from free-agency but England’s record goalscorer isn’t interested in what PSG have to offer. It seems it’s Bayern or nowhere for Kane.

So PSG are seemingly circling back to Randal Kolo Muani. The Parisians were pursuing the France striker earlier in the window but it appeared their interest had waned. Now, according to L’Equipe, they are firmly back on the 24-year-old’s trail. Apparently, PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi is in direct contact with Muani’s representatives, though Eintracht Frankfurt may be trickier to deal with since they have made it clear they want Rasmus Hojlund money to sell their star striker.

NAPOLI EXPECT ANOTHER SAUDI BID FOR OSIMHEN
Napoli presumably formed the opinion that PSG were the only club capable of coughing up for Osimhen before the Saudis started their trolley dash. Because they can certainly afford the Scudetto winners’ asking price – they just have to meet it.

According to L’Equipe, Al-Hilal have already seen two offers for Osimhen rejected by Napoli. The first as said to be worth £103million; the follow up in the region of £120million.

Al-Hilal will try again, this time with a bid of around £129million, which may give Napoli more to think about.

BAYERN STILL SHORT IN KANE TALKS
Bayern Munich will have to try harder if they are to tempt Tottenham into selling Kane…

The Bavarians were in London yesterday to discuss a possible deal for the England striker but The Athletic is reporting that the two parties are not close to an agreement.

Apparently, there is still £25million separating Bayern and Spurs from a deal for the 30-year-old.

LIVERPOOL WEIGH UP BID FOR BARCA DEFENDER
It was reported last week that Liverpool had seen a bid rejected by Barcelona for Andreas Christensen.

The Reds were said to have offered £25.7million but Barca want almost double that, with the Merseysiders around £22.8million short of the Catalans’ valuation.

But Sport reckons there is still hope of a deal. Barca are said to be willing to negotiate, but Liverpool will have to raise their offer, as they have for Romeo Lavia.
